Melissani Lake & Assos Village

Begin with a drive around the scenic bay of Argostoli before passing Mt. Ainos. Arrive in Karavomylos where you can see Melissani lake, a lake discovered by Giannis Petrochilos in 1951. This lake lies in a cave with a collapsed roof. Reach the lake by an underground tunnel for a short boat ride. As you enter the cave, admire the unique natural work of sculpture created by the stalactites and the crystal blue-green color of the waters.

From Melissani continue to the village of Assos, enjoy sometime at leisure to explore this charming village. You can either relax on one of the beaches, walk around the tranquil harbour and scenic gardens or grab a refreshment in a seaside tavern. Head back to the port, passing by Myrtos Beach.
